Common Issues
Extension not appearing in toolbar
Solution: Click puzzle icon 🧩 in Chrome toolbar, click pin 📌 next to Website Modifier.
API Key Errors
401 Unauthorized: Invalid API key. Verify key is correct in Settings.
402 Payment Required: No credits in OpenAI account. Add payment method at OpenAI billing.
429 Rate Limit: Too many requests. Wait 20-60 seconds, try again.
Transformation fails or times out
Solutions:
- Reduce article length (use slider)
- Disable image generation
- Try different website
- Check console for errors (F12 → Console)
Images not generating
DALL-E content policy may reject topic. Try:
- Different topic
- DALL-E 2 instead of DALL-E 3 (more lenient)
- Disable image generation
Page doesn't reset
Refresh page (Ctrl+R / Cmd+R) or click Reset → Reset & Clear Cache.
Auto-intercept not working
- Check Settings → Auto-Apply Transformations toggles are enabled.
- Grant browser permission: Auto-intercept requires site access. When you enable a toggle, Chrome shows a permission dialog — if you dismissed or denied it, disable then re-enable the toggle to trigger the prompt again.
- Cache might be cleared — transform the page again to rebuild the cache.
Enable Debug Logging
- Click extension → Settings
- Enable "Debug logging"
- Optionally enable "Save logs to file"
- Transform a page
- Press F12 → Console tab
- Look for colored emoji logs
Error Code Reference
No API key configured: Enter API key in Settings
No elements found: Page structure incompatible, try different site
License validation failed: Check internet connection, re-enter license key
