Unzip the File

Extract the ZIP file to a permanent location on your computer

                  Windows: Right-click → Extract All

                  Mac: Double-click the ZIP file

⚠️ Don't delete the folder after installation - Chrome needs it!

Open Chrome Extensions

Navigate to Chrome's extension management page

                  Type in address bar: chrome://extensions/

                  Or: Menu → More Tools → Extensions

Enable Developer Mode

Toggle the switch in the top-right corner

Load Unpacked Extension

Click "Load unpacked" button and select the extension folder

                  Click Load unpacked → Navigate to extracted folder → Select the extension folder

Pin the Extension

Pin Website Modifier to your toolbar for easy access

                  Click the puzzle icon 🧩 in Chrome toolbar → Click the pin 📌 next to Website Modifier

Installation Issues?

Extension doesn't appear after loading

Make sure you selected the extension folder (not the parent folder). The folder should contain manifest.json. If still not working, try restarting Chrome.

"Developer mode" option is greyed out

This can happen on managed Chrome installations (work/school computers). Contact your IT administrator, or install on a personal device.

Extension keeps getting disabled

Don't delete the extension folder after installation - Chrome needs access to those files. Move the folder to a permanent location before loading it.

Can't find the extension icon

Click the puzzle icon 🧩 in the Chrome toolbar to see all extensions. Click the pin 📌 next to Website Modifier to pin it to your toolbar.
